It’s proving to be a very wet and cloudy Autumn in 2017. Whilst we wait in hope for crisp, sunny days we’ve created this lovely warming range of autumnal designs. We have beautiful vase arrangements, hand tieds and classic arrangements all featuring beautiful shades of autumn. Ready to order now on-line, by phone or by popping in to see us.
We’re now well in to wedding season and we’ve been creating lots of beautiful wedding flowers for our brides. We’ve also been very busy with funeral work and have been honoured to create many bespoke designs. We have added some new products to the website and generally cleaned it up.
You may notice there are very few Interflora designs now displayed on the website. We have taken the decision, after 60+ years of delivering orders for Interflora to no longer do so. We are still members of Interflora so can still take your orders for delivery across the UK and internationally. We won’t however be accepting any more incoming orders from Interflora.
We recently participated in the ‘Lonely Bouquet‘ project and placed a pretty flower arrangement at a secret location in Dunstable. Sneaking about early on a warm and sunny Saturday morning all seemed very clandestine.
The mission, to drop of the bouquet at the secret location, without being seen and with enough time to grab some photographs.
Here’s the arrangement in situ and awaiting someone to find it and give it a loving home.
The location was the bench near the Little Theatre in High Street South, Dunstable. We returned to the shop and eagerly anticipated news of the Lonely Bouquet’s discovery after announcing it across social media:-
By mid morning we were thrilled to see this lovely post on Facebook from Laura Marie Moore who wrote ‘We have found it 💗 my 5 year old is chuffed to bits to be taking home this lonely boquet so she can take care of it. Thank you so much xx’
The post was shared widely and Laura also posted a lovely picture of her daugher with the flowers on the DLD Facebook page.
We’re so happy to have made someone smile, look out for more lonely bouquets in the future.
In February of 2017 we were invited by the Priory Catering Academy of Dunstable to provide a quote for table centrepieces for a rehearsal for a VIP event. Having created a selection of beautiful arrangements we were pleased to win the contract to supply the flowers for the actual event.
Fast forward to April, with the event near at hand we were asked to provide additional flowers, in this case a tied, hand held posy in red, white and blue. Then, much to our excitement it was revealed the VIP would in fact be HRH The Queen, we would indeed be creating flowers for Her Majesty!
Kate then set about creating this quite beautiful tied posy of anemones, ranunculus, lily of the valley, spray rose, hyacinth and forget-me-not with rosemary sprigs and salal tips.
Many excited residents travelled down to Priory View in Dunstable to see HRH the Queen and we were fortunate enough to receive this picture of HRH the Queen holding our posy. A true thrill and honour.
Here’s some footage of HRH the Queen holding our flowers.
